A small crevice on the mountain now called Jabal al-Nour, with room for only one person, facing the direction of the Ka'bah: visible from inside to this day. The Prophet ﷺ would take food and water and stay here for a number of nights at a time, worshipping in seclusion before returning to his family to replenish supplies. Ibn Ishaq relates that Abdul Muttalib discovered the cave and also sat there to meditate.
