This unnamed young man was a member of Banu Shayban ibn Tha'laba, a tribe living on the edge of the Persian Empire, when the Prophet ﷺ came to them before the Hijrah seeking support. Their elders chose to wait, citing their treaty of neutrality with Kisra. Before leaving, the Prophet ﷺ asked what they would say if Allah gave them victory over Kisra's kingdom, its lands and its wealth. This young man answered at once, "Yes, of course," while the elders found the promise hard to believe.
