أُسَيْد بن حُضَيْر
Converted after listening to Mus'ab ibn Umayr RA preach in Yathrib.
Usayd ibn Hudayr RA was a leader of the Banu Abd al-Ashhal of the Aws in Yathrib and the close friend of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh RA. Sent with his spear to drive out Mus'ab ibn Umayr RA, he sat to listen and accepted Islam on the spot, then brought Sa'd to him; through the two men their whole clan entered Islam, the largest mass conversion up to that time. He commanded the Aws at Uhud in 3 AH. In a hadith in al-Bukhari, he saw lights descending as he recited the Qur'an at night, which were angels coming down to listen.
