Usama ibn Zayd RA

Usamah ibn Zayd RA, called Hibb Rasulillah, "the Beloved of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ", was the son of Zayd ibn Harithah RA and Umm Ayman RA. Born and raised in the Prophet ﷺ's household, he was loved like one of his own children, so much that Companions would ask Usamah to raise their requests with him. As a boy he tried to join the army at Uhud. In 11 AH, still very young, he was appointed to command an army against the Romans; after the Prophet ﷺ's death, Abu Bakr RA insisted on sending it as the Prophet ﷺ had ordered.
