This unnamed man was the uncle of Zayd ibn Arqam RA. When the young Zayd told him what he had overheard Abdullah ibn Ubayy say on the return from al-Muraysi' in 5 AH, he took him straight to the Prophet ﷺ to report it, before Surah al-Munafiqun confirmed Zayd's words.
