Ukaydir ibn Abd al-Malik was the Christian Arab king of Dawmat al-Jandal, of a prestigious tribe with close ties to Rome. During Tabuk in 9 AH the Prophet ﷺ sent Khalid ibn al-Walid RA against him, foretelling that he would be found away from his entourage among some cows, and Khalid captured him exactly so. Ukaydir did not accept Islam, but agreed to break with Rome, pay the jizya and not attack the Muslims, and sent the Prophet ﷺ a garment threaded with gold that amazed the Companions.
