Suhayl was one of two orphan brothers, with Sahal, who inherited the date-drying ground in Madinah where the Prophet ﷺ's camel sat down after the Hijrah. They offered it to him as a gift, but he insisted on paying its price before building Masjid al-Nabawi on it.
