This unnamed man of Banu Qurayza was the master of Salman al-Farisi RA, who bought him and brought him to work on his plantation in Yathrib; he slapped Salman for asking eagerly about the news of a prophet arrived at Quba. After Salman accepted Islam, the master set a preposterous price for his freedom, the planting of more than a hundred palm seedlings grown to maturity, which the Prophet ﷺ planted with his own hands and which grew within a few years, freeing Salman before the Trench.
