Rabi'ah ibn Abbad was a boy at the pilgrimage fairs when the Prophet ﷺ went among the tribes calling them to Islam. He later described seeing a young man invite his father to worship Allah alone, followed by an old man in a Yemeni cloak who urged them to cling to al-Lat and al-Uzza; his father told him the second was the young man's uncle, Abu Lahab.
