Qatada ibn al-Nu'man al-Awsi RA was a Companion of the Ansar from the Aws who fought at Uhud in 3 AH. He took up the Prophet ﷺ's bow after the Prophet ﷺ had shot with it until it broke, and that day his eye was struck so that it hung upon his cheek; the Prophet ﷺ put it back in its place with his hand, and it became his better and keener eye (Ibn Ishaq).
