The patriarch of Najran was the most senior churchman in the Christian delegation that came to Madinah in 9 AH and declined the mubahala. On the way home he rebuked a young man who spoke ill of the Prophet ﷺ, saying he was the prophet foretold in their scripture, and admitted that following him would cost them the honour and wealth the emperor had given them. The young man returned to Madinah and became a Muslim.
