معاذ بن عمرو بن الجموح
Mu'adh ibn Amr ibn al-Jumuh RA was a young man of the Ansar, son of Amr ibn al-Jumuh of Banu Salama, who took the Second Pledge of Aqabah. At Badr in 2 AH, he and a son of Afra' (Mu'adh in al-Bukhari, Muawwidh in Ibn Ishaq) set out to kill Abu Jahl; he severed Abu Jahl's leg and lost his own arm to Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl, then tore it off and fought on. The Prophet ﷺ said both boys had killed him, and Mu'adh received his spoils. He lived a long life with one arm and died during the caliphate of Uthman RA.
