Abdullah ibn al-Jarrah was the father of Abu Ubaydah Amir ibn Abdullah ibn al-Jarrah RA. It is reported that he was a bitter enemy of Islam who sought out his son to kill him at Badr in 2 AH while Abu Ubaydah kept avoiding him, until he attacked by surprise and Abu Ubaydah killed him in self-defence. The report's chain is broken, and al-Waqidi said Abdullah had died before Islam.
