Ibn al-Daghina was the chief of the tribe of Qara, a trading partner of Makkah. When Abu Bakr RA set out to emigrate from Makkah, Ibn al-Daghina met him on the road, praised his generosity and good character, and brought him back under his protection, which the Quraysh accepted on condition that Abu Bakr not pray publicly. When Abu Bakr's moving recitation in front of his house alarmed them, Ibn al-Daghina asked him to keep the condition or release him, and Abu Bakr RA released him, content with the protection of Allah.
