حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ
Hassan ibn Thabit RA was the poet of the Ansar and the official poet of the Prophet ﷺ, counted the greatest poet of early Islam. In an age when poetry was the chief weapon of propaganda, he answered the Quraysh poets' attacks on Islam, and the Prophet ﷺ told him to respond, saying that Jibril would be with him; a minbar was even set up in the masjid for him to recite from. He fell into spreading the slander against Aisha RA and was punished for it, and he lived long after the Prophet ﷺ, defending his right to recite poetry in the masjid.
