Harithah was the father of Zayd ibn Harithah RA, whose son was kidnapped as a boy and sold into slavery, eventually coming to the Prophet ﷺ through Khadijah RA. After years of searching, Harithah learned where Zayd was and came with his brother to Makkah to ransom him. The Prophet ﷺ left the choice to Zayd, who chose to stay with him, and the Prophet ﷺ then publicly freed Zayd and declared him his adopted son, putting his father's heart at rest.
