Damdam ibn Amr al-Ghifari

Damdam ibn Amr al-Ghifari was hired by Abu Sufyan in Ramadan of 2 AH to ride to Makkah and call out the Quraysh to defend their caravan. He arrived with his camel's nose cut, its saddle turned round and his shirt torn, crying that Muhammad ﷺ and his companions were lying in wait for their property. The Quraysh prepared quickly and marched to Badr, three days after Atikah's dream.
