This unnamed elder of the Ansar took Wathila ibn al-Asqa' RA, who had no mount, with him to Tabuk in 9 AH, sharing his camel and meals, and Wathila called him the best companion he ever had. When Wathila brought him the camels he had promised from his share of the spoils, the elder refused them, saying he had not intended that.
