Amr ibn Umayyah RA

Amr ibn Umayyah al-Damri RA was a Companion of the Muhajirun and one of the few survivors of the massacre of the seventy teachers at Bi'r Ma'unah in 4 AH, released by Amir ibn al-Tufayl. On his way home he killed two men of the guilty tribe who, unknown to him, held the Prophet ﷺ's protection, and the Prophet ﷺ paid their blood money, a case cited to show no one bears another's sin. In 7 AH he was the Prophet ﷺ's envoy to the Najashi, summoning Ja'far RA and the emigrants home; Amr ibn al-As's request to kill him drew the Najashi's fury and turned Amr ibn al-As toward Islam.
