علقمة بن قيس النَّخعي
Alqama ibn Qays was one of the tabi'un and a student of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud RA. He asked his teacher whether anyone had been with the Prophet ﷺ on the Night of the Jinn. Ibn Mas'ud replied, as recorded in Sahih Muslim, that no one had. One night the Prophet ﷺ had vanished from among them, and they searched everywhere, fearing he had been kidnapped or killed, and spent the worst night of their lives. At dawn they saw him coming from the direction of Hira. He told them that a caller from the jinn had come to him saying that a gathering was waiting, so he had gone to them and recited the Qur'an. Then he took the Companions and showed them the jinn's campsite and the traces of their fires.
