Abdullah ibn Jud'an was a nobleman of the Quraysh, a distant relative of Aisha RA, considered the most noble man of Makkah in hospitality and sincerity. The Hilf al-Fudul, the pact to defend the wronged whatever their tribe, was sworn in his house, and the Prophet ﷺ, who witnessed it as a young man, said he would uphold it even in Islam. He owned Suhayb al-Rumi RA, treating him more kindly than most masters, made him his business manager, and freed him in his will.
