عبد الله بن جبير
Abdullah ibn Jubayr RA was the commander of the fifty archers the Prophet ﷺ stationed on the hill beside Uhud in 3 AH, since known as the Mountain of the Archers, with orders not to leave whatever happened. When the Quraysh fled and most of the archers went down for the spoils, he held his place with about ten men, refusing to move until the Prophet ﷺ's command came. Khalid ibn al-Walid, then fighting for the Quraysh, overwhelmed them and struck the Muslims from behind, turning the battle.
