Abdullah ibn al-Zab'ari RA of Banu Sahm was the official poet of the Quraysh, whose verses against Islam around Badr and Uhud were answered one by one by Hassan ibn Thabit RA. At the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH he fled to Najran; when a verse Hassan RA aimed at him reached him there, he came to the Prophet ﷺ, accepted Islam and recited poems of repentance (Ibn Ishaq). For the rest of his life he composed poetry in praise of Islam and the Prophet ﷺ.
