يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْا۟ عَنْهُمْ ۖ فَإِن تَرْضَوْا۟ عَنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَرْضَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ
“They will swear to you in order to please you. And even if you are pleased with them, Allah will never be pleased with the fasiqs.”
Condemns the hypocrites who swore false oaths on the Prophet ﷺ's return from Tabuk to be left alone.
This ayah is part of the Qur'an's direct response to the excuse-making scene the post narrates, upon the army's return from Tabuk.
