وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا
“Indeed, we used to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.”
Al-Jinn 72:9 describes the jinns' own account of being barred from eavesdropping on the heavens by shooting stars -- the same phenomenon/incident narrated in the Night of the Jinn at Nakla event (cf. Quran 46:29-31, the companion passage for the same encounter).
