وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنَ الْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ
“And they said, "Why was this Quran not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two major cities (Makkah or Ta'if)?"”
Cited as background on why Ta'if, alongside Makkah, was known as one of the "two great cities."
“And they [the people of Jahannam] will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain"”
Malik the gatekeeper of Jahannam, named in this ayah, met the Prophet ﷺ on the night of al-Mi'raj.
