Surah Al-Furqan · 25:70

“Allah says, "As for those who repent, believe, and do good deeds, they are the ones whose evil deeds Allah will change into good deeds. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful" [Quran, 25:70]. We link "do good deeds" in the verse with "repentance." And this is what Umar RA himself understood — he made a mistake, so he did a lot of good deeds afterward to compensate.”
