A small private chamber, reached by climbing a ladder, in or near the Masjid of the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah, where he would sit for privacy. The books of seerah first mention this room in the context of the Prophet ﷺ's ila' from his wives: this incident is how we know of its existence. It was not his actual house, which was a notch above it in furnishing, though still very sparse.
