This man was one of a group of helpers from Yemen who marched with the Muslim army to Mu'tah in 8 AH, where he killed a Roman officer in golden armour. When Khalid ibn al-Walid RA kept part of the rich spoils for the treasury, he complained to the Prophet ﷺ, who ordered them returned; but when the man taunted Khalid over the verdict, the Prophet ﷺ reversed it, telling him to leave his commanders to him, taking the good from them and leaving the bad.
