The wife of Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf is not named in the sources. Ka'b had only recently married her when, one night in 3 AH, Muhammad ibn Maslamah RA and Abu Na'ila RA came to his fortress and called him out, on the pretext of bringing goods to leave as security for a loan. As he rose from his bed, she held on to him and asked, "Where are you going at this time?" He told her the two men had come to give him some of their goods. She said, "Why are they coming at this time? This is not right. You are a man at war, and I am worried for you." Ka'b answered that Abu Na'ila was his foster brother and that he had known Muhammad ibn Maslamah for a long time and trusted them both. He pulled away from her and went down, and he was killed that night.
