This unnamed woman of Banu Qurayza was the only woman executed after the tribe's surrender in 5 AH. Aisha RA narrates that the woman sat among the captives laughing and joking with her, even as the men of her people were being executed. Then someone called her name and she stood up. Aisha asked why she was standing, and she said, "To be killed." When Aisha asked why, she replied, "Because of something I did." It later became known that during the siege she had killed one of the Companions by throwing a grindstone down on him from above, which is why she alone among the women was executed. Aisha RA said afterward that she never stopped marveling at how the woman had laughed while knowing she was about to be executed.
