This unnamed Companion was chasing one of the idolaters during the Battle of Badr in 2 AH, according to Ibn Abbas in Sahih Muslim. Suddenly he heard the crack of a whip ahead of him and a rider calling to his horse, "Go forth, Haizum!" Before he could bring down his sword, the man he was pursuing had been struck across the nose. When the Companions told the Prophet ﷺ what had happened, he said, "You have told the truth; that was a help Allah had sent down from the Third Heaven." Here as elsewhere at Badr, the believers began the effort and the angels completed it.
