This unnamed man of the Quraysh had visited Bayt al-Maqdis himself. On the morning after al-Isra, Abu Jahal gathered the people of Makkah to hear the Prophet ﷺ announce that he had gone to Bayt al-Maqdis the night before and prayed in Masjid al-Aqsa. Some laughed and clapped, others held their heads in shock, since the Prophet ﷺ had never been known to lie. Everyone knew he had never been to Jerusalem, so this man, who had, asked, "Can you describe it for us?"
The Prophet ﷺ began to describe it, but as they pressed him for details he could not recall, Bayt al-Maqdis was shown to him, raised up before his eyes, so that he could answer every question precisely. At last the man said, "As for the descriptions of Bayt al-Maqdis, he is fully accurate."
