This unnamed man was a doctor who came to Makkah in the early years of the call and, hearing the Prophet ﷺ called a madman by Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab, resolved to cure him. When the Prophet ﷺ recited khutbat al-hajah, the man asked him to repeat it, declared he had never heard anything more beautiful, and after asking further questions accepted Islam.
