This unnamed Companion was among the pilgrims on the Farewell Hajj in 10 AH. After the Umrah, the Prophet ﷺ announced that everyone who had not brought sacrificial animals should leave ihram and become free of its restrictions until the Hajj. Leaving ihram between Umrah and Hajj was unheard of, and this Companion and others asked, "Ya Rasulullah, how can we become halal again? Do you expect us to even be intimate with our families?" The Prophet ﷺ answered, "Yes, everything is halal."
