This unnamed woman of Banu Hashim was not a Muslim. One day Abu Jahal, in a foul mood, cursed the Prophet ﷺ and his forefathers worse than ever before, while the Prophet ﷺ remained silent until he went away. She was outraged, not out of faith but out of tribal honor that Abu Jahal had insulted her own ancestors: "Who does he think he is to curse our men?" When Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib RA returned from one of his expeditions, women of his clan taunted him that no one had stood up to defend his nephew, and told him what Abu Jahal had said. Hamzah went and confronted Abu Jahal, and that day he declared his Islam.
