This unnamed man was one of the Ansar at the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH who, seeing the Prophet ﷺ's relatives entering Islam, remarked that love of his people had overtaken him, fearing he would stay in Makkah. When the Prophet ﷺ confronted the Ansar with their words, he reminded them of his promise that his life and death would be with them, and they wept and apologized; he accepted their excuse.
