This unnamed man, with a straggly beard and large forehead, accused the Prophet ﷺ of unfairness at al-Ji'ranah in 8 AH as the spoils of Hunayn were distributed. The Prophet ﷺ refused Umar RA's request to execute him, but warned that from his kind would come people who recite the Qur'an without it passing their throats and leave Islam like an arrow through its target. The Khawarij are traced back to his attitude.
