This unnamed man was the master of the ship on which Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl meant to cross to Abyssinia after the Conquest of Makkah. In Ibn Ishaq's report he would carry only those who declared Allah one and disowned all rivals, which turned Ikrimah to Islam; other tellings set the scene in a storm.
