Saleh AS

Saleh AS was a prophet sent to the ancient people of Thamud at al-Hijr. When they demanded a miracle, Allah brought forth a she-camel from solid rock with a warning never to harm her, but they hamstrung her and a thunderous blast struck them lifeless in their homes [11:61-68]. Passing their rock-carved houses on the way to Tabuk in 9 AH, the Prophet ﷺ showed his Companions where the camel had come and gone, and warned them not to ask Allah for miracles.
