The Sahabi Who Captured Yasar RA

This unnamed Companion took part in the expedition to Qarqarat al-Kudr in 2 AH. As the Muslims reached the area, the enemy fled, and the first person they came upon was an Abyssinian slave named Yasar, whom they captured. After some time among the Muslims, Yasar saw how they lived and accepted Islam. The Companion who had captured him told the Prophet ﷺ, "Ya Rasulullah, he is yours." The Prophet ﷺ never kept a male slave, so he set Yasar free, but Yasar chose to stay with him and became one of his servants.
