Miqyas ibn Subaba

Miqyas ibn Subaba was a man of Makkah whose brother, Hisham ibn Subaba, was killed by accident by one of the Ansar during the Expedition of al-Muraysi' against Banu al-Mustaliq. When Miqyas heard of it, he pretended to accept Islam, came to Madinah and demanded the blood money of one hundred camels. The Prophet ﷺ paid it, since it was a matter of Islamic law. That same night Miqyas killed the Ansari who had killed his brother and fled back to Makkah with the camels. It was the height of treachery.

At the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH, Miqyas was among the few excluded from the amnesty, and a man of his own clan, Numaylah ibn Abdullah, killed him (Ibn Ishaq).
