Khirash ibn Umayyah al-Khuza'i RA was a Companion of the tribe of Khuza'a. At Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH, wanting to show the Quraysh that he came in peace, the Prophet ﷺ sent Khirash to them riding one of his own camels, al-Tha'lab, which the Quraysh would recognize. Instead of calming them, the sight of the camel enraged them. A mob surrounded Khirash, shouting and shoving, and they wounded and hamstrung the camel. They were about to kill Khirash when the Ahabish, the black troops of the Quraysh's allies, protected him (Ibn Ishaq). The Quraysh sent Khirash back without any real discussion.
