This unnamed man was a chieftain of the Khazraj in Yathrib during the early years of the Prophet ﷺ's call in Makkah. A young man of his tribe had been approached by the Prophet ﷺ and came close to accepting Islam. The chieftain dissuaded him, telling him, "Mind your own business; don't worry about this guy." The young man was later killed in the Battle of Bu'ath. The story shows that word of the Prophet ﷺ had reached Yathrib long before the pledges of Aqaba.
