This unnamed Companion at Khaybar in 7 AH followed a Bedouin whose ferocious fighting the Prophet ﷺ had said would lead him to the Fire, and saw him kill himself after being wounded. When he reported it, the Prophet ﷺ said a person may do the deeds of the people of Jannah until within a cubit of it, then his decree overtakes him.
