Hasan RA

Al-Hasan ibn Ali RA was the first grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, the elder son of Ali RA and Fatimah RA and brother of al-Husayn RA. The Prophet ﷺ named him, loved him and his brother immensely, and called them the leaders of the young men of Jannah, foretelling that Allah would reconcile two great groups of Muslims through al-Hasan.

After Ali RA was assassinated, he was pledged allegiance as caliph in Madinah, and after six months facing Mu'awiyah RA on the brink of war he stepped down in 41 AH to spare the ummah, fulfilling that prophecy. Sunni scholars count him the fifth Rightly Guided Caliph. He died in 50 AH.
