Dimam ibn Tha'labah RA was a Bedouin elder of the Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr of Hawazin, sent by his people to Madinah in 9 AH, the Year of Delegations, to test the Prophet ﷺ in person. He strode into the Masjid, asked for "the son of Abd al-Muttalib," and warned he would question him harshly. He made the Prophet ﷺ swear by Allah that He had sent him and had commanded the prayer, zakat, the fast and pilgrimage, then vowed to do exactly that. His whole tribe accepted Islam the day he returned, and it was said that no delegate brought more blessing to his people.
