قُسْطَنْطِينُ العَظِيمُ
Constantine was the first Roman emperor to become a Christian, ending centuries of Roman persecution of Christians. A former pagan, he convened the council of Nicaea in 325 CE, which made Trinitarian Christianity official, condemned the teachings of Arius, who denied the Trinity, and persecuted those who dissented. From his decree descend nearly all the churches of today.
