This unnamed Companion fought at Uhud in 3 AH. Seeing Quzman, a man who had gone into battle to prove his manhood rather than for the sake of Allah, fighting fiercely, he came back to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Ya Rasulullah! Quzman is fighting an amazing battle!" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "He will be in the Hellfire." The Companion said he received a shock like no other, and he decided to follow Quzman to find out why. Eventually Quzman was hit by an arrow and, unable to bear the pain, set his sword's handle on the ground and threw himself on the blade. The Companion went back and told the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Sometimes Allah helps this religion through a fajir."
