بريدة بن الحُصَيب
Buraydah ibn al-Husayb RA was a Companion and a capable warrior. In 5 AH, when word reached Madinah that al-Harith ibn Abi Dirar, chief of Banu al-Mustaliq, was gathering men to attack the Muslims, the Prophet ﷺ sent Buraydah to confirm it. Posing as a Bedouin, he went to al-Harith and said, "I have heard that you are launching an attack against the Muslims, I want to join so I can get a share of the booty." Glad to have such a fighter, al-Harith confirmed the plan and welcomed him. That night Buraydah slipped away and brought the news to the Prophet ﷺ, so the Muslims' attack on Banu al-Mustaliq took them completely by surprise.
